Creativity

Creativity is a key concept of the revised Programme of Study. It includes two elements:

a. Using familiar language for new purposes and in new contexts
b. Using imagination to express thoughts, ideas, experiences and feelings

Languages shares this key concept with many other subjects. The new curriculum encourages language departments to provide pupils with more interesting contexts for their learning, and to include more frequent opportunities for pupils to work creatively and imaginatively. Creativity is also about helping pupils to use language more confidently and independently by recombining words and phrases in new ways.
